by your criteries darkwel and jailbreak is still music i don't like heavy music too... bands like slipknot sepultura... my friends like them but not me... there are one heavy metal group blind guardian i think (my friend send few songs of them to me..) their songs are not bad i liked them but if my memory doesn't lie their style is called speed metal and there are songs of epic metal (i dont know if these definitions mean enything to you just my friend told to me... he's big fan of that sort of music...)

Damn, I didn't say Aerosmith , I think Dream on is their best song.
I just thougt of a few bands: Dire straits (sultans of swing, money for nothing), pink floyd (wish you were here, the wall), The pixies (where is my mind, monkey gone to heaven) I also like korn (my next village will be called freak on a leash ). I saw them live once, they threw one of their guitar picks on me but I didn't get it, suddenly it turned into a human pile of meat when they threw that
